Details that help us find a match
A few details up front help our parts team identify your vehicle and the exact part for your repair
- VIN and BMW model
- Send the full VIN, year, series and model. Add the production information from the vehicle label if available.
- Engine identification
- Include the known engine designation and any replacement part numbers recommended by your installer. Do not guess an engine code.
- Drivetrain and equipment
- Tell us the drivetrain and which accessories or related components the repair shop expects with the engine.
- Your repair plan
- Share the installer's compatibility questions and the delivery ZIP code so the parts and shipping discussion covers the full request.
Before you buy

BMW engines: what to know
Answers on availability, delivery and warranty coverage. For anything specific to your vehicle, call our parts team.
Can I order a BMW engine using only the model badge?
A model badge is not enough to confirm engine compatibility. Supply the VIN, year, model, known engine designation and the information your installer has used to identify the replacement.
Are BMW engines always in stock?
Availability changes. Contact our parts desk for a specific engine search. If a suitable part is not on our shelves, ask about Lucky Line's free nationwide parts locating service.
Who checks installation and setup requirements?
Your installer should verify the proposed engine and determine any component transfers, programming or other setup required for your vehicle. Lucky Line supplies parts and does not install engines.
